Valentines Day

Today is Valentines Day and the Canadians just love it.  Last time we were here I got caught out by the  extent of the celebrations so this year I was a bit more prepared.  Each child has to make or buy a Valentine for everyone in their class, so feeling quite creative, I encouraged the children to make them....with mixed results!

This is Lucy's.  She worked really hard with the cutting and just needed a bit of help with the eyes.
This is Charlie's.  He loves origami and painstakingly folded each one while following a demonstration on youtube..it took him hours!
This one is Ned's.  It was all his own idea because he wanted to create a box to put chocolates in for his class mates...nothing too girly, he'd also been learning about nets at school.  But....when it came down to it, guess who was the mug who ended up cutting out 20 bloody boxes.   More fool me!!

On a different note...Helen, Chloe and Sam arrive tonight and we are soooo excited!!!

Jamie's Birthday

Happy Birthday on 7th February 2013

New go-faster goggles!!!

Half Pipe jam day

Last weekend, the boys entered their first competition.  It was nothing too serious, but Big White has the only half pipe between Calgary and Vancouver, so loads of kids from other resorts came to try it out and practice their moves!  Ned is not keen to enter competitions, but the instructors insist that it's just a training day and it gives them great experience in a competition environment, and this day was all about fun, anything goes.  At the end of the jam, there was a prize giving and Ned won most improved and Charlie won smoothest run!

This is Ned on the half pipe.

Meanwhile, Lucy's theme for the day was crazy hair.  I stuck a long flowing blonde wig to her helmet...she looked fantastic but she hated it.  She said everyone kept asking her where she got her hair from and she said she was too young to be famous!!!
